Children - Lung and breathing disorders

While the causes and triggers of lung and breathing disorders vary, children who suffer from these conditions all experience inflammation and irritation of the airways, making it difficult for air to flow to the lungs. Attacks are usually accompanied by sneezing, coughing and chest pains.

Lung and breathing cover a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Bronchitis
  • Asthma
  • Respiratory tract infection
  • Otitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Tonsillitis

The Health in Motion approach

The problem with lung or breathing disorders go beyond the function of breathing. When airflow to the lungs is obstructed, the body’s cells cannot get enough oxygen, which in turn disrupts the body’s normal metabolic exchange. This is why it’s important to choose treatment that works to eliminate the condition, not merely relieve the symptoms.

Depending on your child’s condition, the treatment plan we recommend may include the following therapists:

  • Homeopath to enhance the body’s ability to fight disease
  • Nutritionist to balance food intake and enhance the immune system’s ability to fight disease, prevent allergic reactions and eliminate triggers of the condition
  • Massage therapist to stimulate and normalize lungs function.
  • Physiotherapist in some cases to teach your child breathing exercises that stimulate normal function of the lungs

Parents and caregivers must be present during treatment sessions so we can guide you on the proper approaches and activities you need to do everyday with your child to ensure full recovery.

Program duration

Our lung and breathing disorders program consists of 13 treatment hours a month, with the number of months required varying according to your child’s needs. During the duration of your child’s program, we offer unlimited consultation by email and phone with any of your team therapists.
